Brian, thank you for your response! This is the first episode of your podcast I have listened to, and I plan to listen to many more. I agree that revisiting films can be a fun time. Although DRC didn’t hold up for me, there are many movies that I appreciated even more upon revisiting them (ex. the first Die Hard, The Road Warrior, Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, etc.).

Great review! Used to really like this movie when I was a teen, but upon revisiting it this summer, my reaction was much like yours and Chris’s. It has some fun moments and some great tunes on the soundtrack, but otherwise just gets too puerile and one-dimensional for its own good. The actors do a decent job with the material, but the script just lets them down time and again. Overall, a mixed bag, and not one I will be revisiting again any time soon.
