Episode 382 - Rain Man (1988)

The top film of 1988 starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise, about a self-absorbed car-dealer who discovers he has an older brother who is autistic.  Co-starring Valeria Golino.  Directed by Barry Levinson.  Special thanks to my co-worker Chris for sharing her insights and stories about her son.

Episode 381 - Vivacious Lady (1938)

A normally boring college professor (James Stewart) marries a nightclub singer (Ginger Rogers) on a whim after one terrific night together.  But when reality settles in, Stewart doesn't know how to break the news to his stuffy, high-society family.  Co-starring Charles Coburn, Beulah Bondi and James Ellison.  Directed by George Stevens.

Episode 380 - The Princess Bride (1987)

INCONCEIVABLE! The delightfully quotable satirical classic starring Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin, Chris Sarandon, Fred Savage, Peter Falk, Christopher Guest, Wallace Shawn, Andre the Giant, Billy Crystal, Carol Kane and Peter Cook.  Directed by Rob Reiner.

Episode 379 - To Have and Have Not (1944)

The first film pairing Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall.  Based on the Ernest Hemingway novel about an American fishing boat Captain living in unoccupied France during WWII who reluctantly decides to help the French Resistance. Co-starring Walter Brennan and directed by Howard Hawks.

Episode 378 - Pixels (2015)

Aliens invade the Earth masquerading as classic 80s video game characters.  Only Adam Sandler can save the planet from total annihilation!  Co-starring Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad and Brian Cox.  Directed by Chris Columbus.

Episode 377 - The Third Man (1949)

A top-notch film noir about a pulp novel writer (Joseph Cotten) searching post-war Vienna for clues about the mysterious death of his friend (Orson Welles).  Co-starring Trevor Howard and Alida Valli.  Directed by Carol Reed.

Episode 376 - The Wedding Singer (1998)

After being ditched at the altar, a small-town wedding singer (Adam Sandler) tries to get his life back on track with the help of a new friend (Drew Barrymore).  Co-starring Christine Taylor, Allen Covert and Matthew Glave.
